Of Course It Was Bush’s Fault April 30, 2010

How could anyone believe otherwise?
He and his Halliburton cronies thought of it during the fly over of New Orleans after they seeded the clouds right before Katrina.
But they want to wait a year and a half after he was out of office to hide their tracks.
RFK Jr., you remember him, he uncovered the plot that let Bush steal Ohio in 2004, was just too clever and found him out.
Throw Bush in jail for this and throw away the key.
by the way, I hear Chaney is in charge of the clean-up.
You Just Had To Know April 30, 2010

I’ve suspected since the incident occurred that the disasterous oil spill about to wipe out the Mississippi River Delta, 41% of the US fishing industry, and a huge swath of irreplacable wetlands was the fault of none other than our old buddy, George W. Bush, but I’ve held my tongue up until now. But you just had to know that Dubya, his oil industry cronies, and the rest of the robber baron indulstrialists who virtually gutted the EPA from 2000 through 2008 were at the root of this horror. Now Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and seventeen other lawyers have filed suit against BP on behalf of two commercial fisheries in Louisiana. It turns out that there was a safety device that could have prevented this spill, a safety device that is required on offshore rigs in Europe, a safety device that was required on US rigs before the requirement was summarily dropped by the Bush administration, a safety device that BP saved a few sheckels on while making a couple billion dollars a day. It’s obscene. And it was Bush’s fault. There, I said it.

The president has temporarily detached himself from the Republican Party’s collective hindquarters and reconsidered that whole business of of locating a few hundred more drilling platforms in American waters. Gee, I wonder what changed his mind:

If It Walks Like A Duck, Has Webbed Feet, And Quacks April 30, 2010

It’s probably a duck. My blogmate opines: Well, I guess that cinches the argument. It’s fascism, worse, Nazism. First, let me state for the record that nowhere in my previous posts did I refer to the heinous Arizona law as Nazism. We all know that whoever first resorts to the Nazi argument loses. But if he wants to equate it with Nazism, who am I to argue? But it is without a doubt fascism, albeit the new American fascism. There will be subtle differences. Our agents will not be clad in leather trenchcoats and pince nez glasses. Nope, our guys will be wearing smokey hats and aviator shades. So there’s that. Here’s the actual article from which my partner quotes:
Truck driver forced to show birth certificate claims racial-profiling | Phoeni
When you read past the first two sentences, you will find that this unfortunate truck driver was, in fact, detained and incarcerated, even after providing the state trooper with a valid drivers license and social security number, just as that nefarious left wing journalist asserted in his story. Further, he was not released until his wife appeared and produced his birth certificate. That’s not a fascist policy? Give me a break. Does anyone seriously believe it’s not blatant racial profiling? Does anyone seriously assert that Elizabeth Mallory Finch III, while visiting her estate in the Hamptons, will ever similarly be coerced to provide her “papers” or face imprisonment? As for me, I may just start wearing a big old yellow star on the front of my shirt…just in case.

Argument By Anecdote April 29, 2010

A Left-wing blog quotes this guy:
PHOENIX – A Valley man says he was pulled over Wednesday morning and questioned when he arrived at a weigh station for his commercial vehicle along Val Vista and the 202 freeway.
Abdon, who did not want to use his last name, says he provided several key pieces of information but what he provided apparently was not what was needed.
Well, I guess that cinches the argument. It’s fascism, worse, Nazism.
